Responsibilities
Recruit, screen, and obtain informed consent from eligible study participants
Support participant followup and data collection, including interviews and blood samples
Collect, prepare, document, and coordinate transport of blood samples per study protocols
Maintain study records, identifiers, tools, supplies, and equipment
Prepare daily field updates and participate in training, debrief, and review meetings
Support mobilisation, distribute participant incentives, and ensure compliance with ethics and confidentiality requirements
Perform other duties as assigned by the Project ManagerQualificationsEducation
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification with training in phlebotomyExperience
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a research assistant in quantitative health or psychosocial data collection
Proficiency in ODK, Kobo Collect, or similar tablet/phonebased data collection platforms
Fluency in Luganda and English, with strong communication and confidentiality skillsDesirable Qualities
Experience in fishingcommunity or health research
Certification in Good Clinical Practice or Human Subjects Protection
