Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and carry out appropriate repairs. Respond quickly to machine breakdowns to minimize production downtime. Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules. Replace worn, damaged, or faulty components when required. Ensure machinery is properly lubricated, adjusted, and maintained. Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing, breakdowns, and maintenance activities. Electrical & Facility Maintenance: Carry out basic electrical maintenance and troubleshooting where qualified. Inspect electrical connections, switches, sockets, lighting, and other electrical installations. Maintain workshop lighting, power systems, ventilation, and other facility equipment. Identify and report electrical, mechanical, structural, or safety hazards. Assist with general building and facility maintenance when required. Coordinate with external technicians or contractors for specialized repairs. Preventive Maintenance: Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules for machinery and equipment. Monitor equipment performance and identify potential problems before breakdowns occur. Maintain a record of maintenance activities and replacement parts. Recommend equipment repairs, upgrades, or replacements when necessary. Help maintain an adequate stock of essential spare parts and maintenance supplies. Safety: Ensure machines and equipment are maintained in a safe operating condition. Follow all workplace health and safety procedures. Ensure appropriate safety guards and protective systems are functioning properly. Support safe lockout/isolation procedures during maintenance work. Report unsafe equipment or working conditions immediately. Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area. Requirements HND / Bachelor's degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field. 3 - 5 years of relevant maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing, furniture, woodworking, or industrial environment. Strong practical knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems. Experience maintaining production machinery and workshop equipment. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults. Good knowledge of tools, equipment, motors, bearings, belts, switches, sensors, and other machine components. Basic welding, fabrication, plumbing, or carpentry skills are an advantage. Ability to read basic technical drawings, machine manuals, and electrical diagrams. Good record-keeping and reporting skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures. Ability to work independently and respond quickly to breakdowns and emergencies.
