Logistics Team Lead At Emmix Global Limited

Job Summary

• We are looking for an experienced and organized Logistics Team Lead to oversee our delivery and logistics operations and ensure that products reach customers safely, on time, and in excellent condition.
• The Logistics Team Lead will coordinate the company's day-to-day logistics activities, including furniture deliveries, dispatch, transportation, loading and unloading, route planning, and coordination with drivers and installation teams.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient movement of furniture from the production facility or warehouse to customer locations while maintaining high standards of safety, customer service, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics & Delivery Management:

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily furniture deliveries.
• Organize delivery schedules based on customer requirements and agreed timelines.
• Coordinate the movement of finished furniture from the factory/store to customer locations.
• Plan efficient delivery routes to minimize travel time, fuel costs, and delays.
• Ensure products are properly loaded, secured, transported, and delivered without damage.
• Coordinate multiple deliveries and installation assignments simultaneously.
• Monitor delivery progress and provide updates to management and relevant departments.
• Ensure all completed deliveries are properly documented and confirmed.

Team Leadership:

• Supervise and coordinate drivers, delivery assistants, loaders, and logistics personnel.
• Assign daily duties, delivery routes, and responsibilities to team members.
• Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, productivity, and performance.
• Train team members on safe handling, loading, transportation, and delivery procedures.
• Promote teamwork, discipline, accountability, and professional customer service.
• Resolve day-to-day operational issues within the logistics team.

Furniture Handling & Delivery:

• Ensure furniture is handled carefully throughout loading, transportation, unloading, and installation.
• Inspect products before dispatch to ensure they are complete and ready for delivery.
• Ensure appropriate packaging and protection of furniture during transportation.
• Minimize product damage, loss, and customer complaints during delivery.
• Coordinate with the Installation Team to ensure installers have the correct products, tools, and hardware for each job.

Fleet & Vehicle Management:

• Monitor company vehicles and motorcycles used for logistics operations.
• Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, clean, and roadworthy.
• Track fuel usage, mileage, servicing, repairs, and other vehicle-related expenses.
• Report vehicle faults and maintenance requirements promptly.
• Ensure drivers follow company driving and safety policies.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage and logistics activities.

Customer Service:

• Coordinate with customers regarding delivery schedules and access requirements.
• Ensure delivery teams communicate professionally with customers.
• Handle delivery-related complaints and resolve issues promptly.
• Escalate significant customer concerns to management.
• Ensure customers receive their furniture in good condition and within the agreed timeframe.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, dispatches, returns, damages, and completed installations.
• Prepare daily and weekly logistics reports.
• Track delivery costs, fuel consumption, vehicle usage, and other operational expenses.
• Monitor failed or delayed deliveries and identify the reasons for delays.
• Maintain proper proof-of-delivery documentation.
• Provide management with regular updates on logistics performance and challenges.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The Logistics Team Lead will be responsible for monitoring:

• On-time delivery rate.
• Number of successful deliveries completed.
• Delivery damage and loss rate.
• Fuel and transportation costs.
• Vehicle utilization and downtime.
• Customer complaints related to delivery.
• Delivery turnaround time.
• Team productivity and attendance.
• Accuracy of delivery and dispatch records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree / HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Transport Management, or a related field.
• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, delivery, or fleet operations.
• Previous experience supervising a logistics or delivery team is strongly preferred.
• Experience in furniture, retail, manufacturing, construction, or a related industry is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of local routes and delivery planning.
• Strong understanding of loading, transportation, and safe handling of bulky or fragile products.
• Experience managing drivers, delivery assistants, or field teams.
• Good knowledge of vehicle and fleet management.
• Ability to use Google Maps or other navigation and logistics applications.
• Good Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deliveries and priorities.
