The Logbook Loan Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Nairobi County, Kenya.
This role involves originating and processing logbook loan applications, including initial client assessment, document verification, and data entry into lending systems.
The Logbook Loan Officer will evaluate vehicle and client information, support underwriting decisions, and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Daily tasks include explaining loan products and terms, responding to customer inquiries, managing follow-ups, and maintaining accurate records throughout the loan lifecycle.
The role also requires collaboration with branch staff to achieve portfolio growth targets, minimize risk, and deliver consistent, high-quality customer service.
Qualifications
Experience in loan operations and lending environments, including Loan Officer responsibilities and Loan Origination.
Solid understanding of Finance principles relevant to consumer and asset-based lending.
Background in Underwriting, including basic credit assessment and risk evaluation.
Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, handle queries, and manage client relationships.
Diploma or degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
Proficiency in basic computer applications and loan management systems.
Attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and ability to work with set targets and deadlines.
Previous microfinance or banking experience in Kenya, especially with logbook or asset-backed loans, is an added advantage.
