Overall purpose of the job:

• To safely operate the ambulance unit and assist medical personnel in delivering effective pre-hospital emergency care to patients

Key Responsibilities

• Safely drive and operate the ambulance during emergency responses and patient transfers
• Assist the paramedic in providing pre-hospital patient care and clinical support
• Perform routine vehicle checks, maintenance and ensure overall roadworthiness
• Maintain complete inventory records of vehicle spare parts and emergency equipment
• Inspect and ensure all onboard communication systems remain operational
• Maintain accurate logbooks, maintenance records and vehicle-related expense receipts

Qualifications, Experience & Core Competencies

• Certificate in EMT-Basic or EMT-Intermediate
• Valid practicing license from the Kenya Council of Emergency Medical Technicians (KCEMT)
• Valid Class BCE driving license
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an emergency ambulance operator
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• High attention to detail and situational awareness
