What You Will Do
You will be responsible for carrying out laboratory and material processing procedures that determine the quality, texture, colour, and finish of our hair products. This includes washing, prepping, texturising, steaming, colouring, neutralising, conditioning, drying, and quality testing.
You will work closely with the production and quality teams to ensure every process is completed accurately and consistently. You will also maintain equipment, prepare materials and chemical solutions, document processes, and ensure the laboratory environment remains clean, organised, and safe.

We are looking for someone who is highly detail oriented, disciplined, and comfortable working with structured processes. You should be able to follow an SOP carefully, measure materials accurately, identify when something is not right, and take action before an issue affects the final product.
You should also be comfortable with repetitive technical work and understand that consistency matters. We want someone who is curious about how materials behave, pays attention to small differences, and takes pride in producing the same quality result repeatedly.

This role is for someone who enjoys working with their hands and following technical processes to achieve a specific result. You will be working with hair materials, chemicals, equipment, measurements, and controlled processing conditions, so attention to detail is essential.
The role requires more than simply following instructions. You will need to understand why each step matters, recognise when a process is not going as expected, and communicate issues quickly. A strong Laboratory Technician will notice changes in texture, colour, softness, pattern, or finish and raise them before the product moves to the next stage.
This is not a role for someone who is careless with measurements or skips steps when work gets busy. It is also not for someone who needs constant supervision to complete routine processes. We are looking for someone who can learn our processes, follow them consistently, maintain a high standard, and gradually take greater ownership of the work.

What You Will Own
Execute laboratory processes including washing, prepping, texturising, steaming, colouring, neutralising, conditioning, and drying.
Follow approved SOPs for chemical treatments, processing times, temperatures, equipment use, and hygiene.
Prepare chemical mixtures, baths, and solutions using accurate measurements and specified ratios.
Operate laboratory and production equipment including steamers, dryers, hot water baths, digital scales, mixers, heating tools, and conditioning machines.
Inspect processed hair for texture, pattern, softness, colour accuracy, strength, uniformity, and overall finish.
Identify processing issues and report them promptly before affected products move to the next stage.
Keep laboratory workstations, tools, equipment, and materials clean, organised, and properly maintained.
Maintain accurate records of processes, measurements, materials used, and quality checks.
Monitor the use of chemicals and consumables and flag low stock before it affects production.
Work closely with Production, Quality, Styling, and other teams to maintain a smooth production flow.
Follow all safety, chemical handling, hygiene, and factory procedures consistently.
Contribute ideas that improve process consistency, reduce errors, minimise waste, and improve production efficiency.

Ability to work effectively in a structured production environment.
Basic proficiency with Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
Strong communication and ability to work effectively with other teams.
Strong advantages:
Previous experience in a laboratory, production, manufacturing, quality control, cosmetics, hair, beauty, or related environment.
Experience working with chemical treatments or controlled processing procedures.
Experience with quality inspection or batch based production.
Technical, laboratory, science, chemistry, biology, cosmetology, or related educational background.
