About The Role

  • The Label Services Manager, Nigeria will be based in ONErpm's Lagos office and will be responsible for developing ONErpm's business in Nigeria while managing a roster of artists and label clients. The role will work closely with artists, labels, DSPs and their teams to plan, release and promote music and video content, while providing strategic guidance to drive audience growth and revenue. The role will also support the management and development of the Nigeria team.
  • Working closely with the Director, A&R and Operations - Africa, the role supportsONErpm's regional strategy and represents the company in Nigeria.
  • This role requires a minimum of three days per week onsite at the Lagos office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Label Services & Client Management: Oversee day-to-day label services for ONErpm's Nigeria roster, working closely with the A&R and Project Management teams to ensure clients receive effective support throughout the release cycle. Support client onboarding and provide guidance on ONErpm's platform, analytics, and royalty reporting tools, while identifying opportunities to improvemclient performance and satisfaction.
  • Distribution & Release Management : Plan and deliver releases with accuratemmetadata and DSP compliance. Coordinate across teams to grow cross-market opportunities, resolve distribution issues, and keep clients' releases on schedulemand performing well.
  • Business Development & Partnerships: Identify and develop strategic partnerships and commercial opportunities with DSPs, brands, media, and industry stakeholders to drive ONErpm's growth, market presence, and audience reach.
  • Performance Tracking & revenue Optimization: Use streaming, audience and platform analytics to evaluate performance and provide actionable insights. Support clients in maximizing monetization across YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and other UGC platforms.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a senior music industry role, or 5+ years in distribution,
  • label, DSP, artist management or related roles across A&R, business development, account management or label services.
  • Strong knowledge of and relationships within the Nigerian music industry, with a proven track record in business development, client management and team leadership.
  • Passionate about music, comfortable managing multiple projects and timelines, technologically adept, commercially minded and able to think creatively and strategically.
  • A strong understanding of current music and pop culture trends, an entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential.
  • Experience in team management with effective leadership skills.
  • Organized, thorough, and responsive.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Creativity and willingness to think outside the box

Assist with DSP editorial pitching, playlist submissions, and campaign tracking., including pitching via Spotify for Artists and the Apple Music pitching tool and preparing DSP mailers. Begin preparing pitches around 6 weeks before release, submitting no later than 14 days before release for Spotify and around 4 weeks before release for Apple Music. Prepare and distribute DSP performance reports, analysing key including Week-1 performance summaries within 7 days of release, playlist reports, and quarterly reports, pulling data from Spotify for Artists, Apple Music for Artists, Audiomack and YouTube, and communicating insights to artists and managers. Act as a primary point of contact for artists and managers on distribution-related matters. Support the Label Services Manager in managing relationships with artists, managers, and digital partners. Assist artists with release assets, creative materials, smart links, and reporting to ensure smooth and timely delivery. Build and maintain strong working relationships across Empawa's artist roster and extended creative network.
