L3 IT Support Technician Location: Umhlanga, Durban | Office-based with client-site visits We are looking for an experienced L3 IT Support Technician to provide advanced technical support across client environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for infrastructure troubleshooting, firewall management, networking, server support and technical project implementation. Key Responsibilities Configure, manage and troubleshoot firewalls, including firewall rules, NAT and site-to-site/client VPNs. Manage switching, VLANs and wireless networks. Support and troubleshoot Windows Server environments. Work with Hyper-V and/or VMware virtualisation technologies. Manage backup, restore and recovery processes. Provide hands-on Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Entra ID administration. Support 3CX telephony systems. Assist with network rollouts, infrastructure projects and on-site client support. Resolve escalated technical issues, maintain accurate documentation and ensure tickets are managed within agreed SLAs. Minimum Requirements Strong hands-on firewall configuration and troubleshooting experience; Sophos preferred. Practical experience with switching, VLANs and wireless networking. Experience with UniFi and/or Reyee networking equipment. Windows Server administration and troubleshooting experience. Exposure to Hyper-V and/or VMware, including backup and restore processes. Hands-on Microsoft 365 administration, including users, licences, mailboxes and MFA. Experience with Active Directory and Entra ID. Strong ticketing discipline, SLA management and technical documentation. Excellent troubleshooting, communication and client-service skills. Additional Information Based at the Umhlanga office, with regular visits to client sites around Durban. Normal office hours with a standby rotation; weekend callouts are rare. Hybrid work may become possible in the future. Own transport and a valid driver's licence are preferred. Vendor training and certifications are provided. Candidates must demonstrate genuine, hands-on technical experience, particularly with firewalls and Microsoft 365 administration. Strong ticketing and SLA discipline are essential.
