Description

  • We are seeking hardworking and reliable Kitchen Staff to support the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel kitchen.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, maintaining clean and organised work areas, handling kitchen supplies and equipment properly and supporting the kitchen team in maintaining high standards of food hygiene and service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with washing, peeling, cutting, portioning, and preparing ingredients.
  • Support cooks and chefs during meal preparation and service.
  • Clean and sanitise workstations, utensils, equipment, and kitchen areas.
  • Assist with receiving, arranging, and storing food supplies.
  • Ensure ingredients are properly labelled and stored.
  • Support proper stock rotation and minimise food wastage.
  • Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness throughout kitchen operations.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
  • Carry out other kitchen duties assigned by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.

Performance Expectations

  • Support the kitchen team in efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Prepare ingredients and assist with food production as directed.
  • Maintain clean and hygienic workstations and kitchen areas.
  • Properly store food items and kitchen supplies.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
  • Assist with receiving and organising kitchen supplies.
  • Minimise food waste and prevent avoidable damage or spoilage.
  • Complete assigned kitchen duties promptly and efficiently.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of SSCE/WAEC or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience working in a hotel, restaurant, catering business, or commercial kitchen is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Previous experience handling kitchen equipment is an added advantage.
