Collect, analyze, and preserve test samples.
Carry out blood grouping procedures.
Store blood products according to requirements.
Screen for blood transfusion infections.
Issue blood and blood products to peripheral health facilities as requested.
Prepare blood products for safe custody or use.
Decontaminate working benches.
Receive and scrutinize laboratory requisition forms and specimens.
Prepare clients for specimen collection.
Receive, collect, label, and register specimens.
Disaggregate specimens for processing and analysis.
Prepare stains and reagents.
Dispatch results for clinical management.
Examine specimens and record results.
Maintain analytical databases, laboratory stores, records, and equipment.
Write laboratory reports.Qualifications & Skills
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Forensic Science, or Biotechnology from a recognized institution.
Minimum of six (6) years’ relevant work experience, with at least three (3) years at the grade of Medical Laboratory Technologist II or in a comparable position.
Registration with the relevant professional body.
Valid practising license.
