Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesDuties at this level will entail:

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Implementing the Human Resource Plan.

Overseeing the identification, design, and implementation of training programmes based on identified needs.

Guiding the development and updating of the human resource database.

Developing and reviewing Human Resource instruments.

Coordinating the implementation of recommendations from internal and external audits.

Supervising the preparation of training projections and plans.

Coordinating the administration of the payroll system.

Ensuring the preparation and compiling of staff deductions.

Undertaking disciplinary processes.

Organizing teambuilding activities.

Developing a plan for annual performance target setting for review by management.

Coordinating staff welfare.

Overseeing the processing of staff travel clearance.

Providing secretarial services to the Human Resource Management Committee.

Preparing and submitting statutory deductions.

Updating and mitigating the Human Resource risk register.

Filing statutory returns for compliance with relevant applicable laws.

Managing payroll.

Administering employee benefits and compensation.Person SpecificationFor appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

Person Specification

Cumulative service period of twelve (12) years’ relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been in the grade of Principal Human Resource Management Officer or in a comparable position.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

OR Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Sociology, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution plus Higher Diploma in Human (adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});Resource Management or Certified Human Resource Practitioner (CHRP) Course from a recognized and accredited institution.

Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Human Resource Planning, Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution.

Certified Human Resource Practitioner (CHRP) Course or its equivalent from a recognized and accredited institution.

Membership of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) or relevant professional body and in good standing.

Valid practicing licence from relevant professional body where applicable.

Certificate in Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.

Registration with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).

Proficiency in computer applications.
