Junior QA/QC Coating Inspector – NACE / AMPP / ICorr Level 1Location: Secunda, MpumalangaPositions Available: 2Contract: 6 Months (Possible Extension)Start Date: 2 January 2027Industry: Petrochemical | Oil & Gas | Industrial MaintenanceJob OverviewFempower Personnel is seeking 2 qualified Junior QA/QC Coating Inspectors for a six-month contract opportunity based in Secunda.The successful candidates will be responsible for conducting quality inspections and monitoring surface preparation, blasting, protective coating applications, FoamGlas insulation and Passive Fire Protection (PFP) activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and international quality standards.Minimum Requirements
Valid NACE / AMPP / ICorr Level 1 Coating Inspector certification.
3–5 years' relevant quality control or coating inspection experience within heavy industrial, petrochemical or oil and gas environments.
Practical knowledge of surface preparation, abrasive blasting and industrial protective coating systems.
Understanding of corrosion under insulation (CUI) protection, FoamGlas insulation and PFP applications.
Ability to interpret coating specifications, technical data sheets, inspection and test plans (ITPs) and relevant ISO, SSPC and NACE standards.
Familiarity with coating inspection equipment, including DFT/WFT gauges, surface profile gauges, dew point meters and holiday detectors.
Good reporting, documentation and communication skills.
Conduct inspections of surface preparation, blasting, painting and coating activities.
Verify ambient conditions, surface cleanliness, surface profiles and coating thickness.
Monitor FoamGlas insulation installation and protective coating applications.
Inspect PittWrap vapour barrier, PFP and UV protective coating activities.
Monitor environmental conditions during dehumidification.
Identify quality defects and report non-conformances.
Maintain daily inspection records and quality control documentation.
Assist with inspection hold-points and contractor quality compliance.
Ensure adherence to site safety and quality requirements.
