- The Junior GIS Staff - Installations will support Turbo Energy's metering and installation operations by providing accurate geographic data, mapping support, site verification, and GIS documentation for meter installation activities.
- The role will involve working closely with the Installation, Operations, Sales and Technical teams to ensure that installation locations are accurately captured, mapped, documented and updated in the company's GIS records.
- The successful candidate will spend time both in the office and in the field, particularly when carrying out site verification, collecting location coordinates and supporting installation teams.
- Create, update and maintain GIS maps and databases relating to Turbo Energy's meter installations.
- Capture and accurately record the geographical coordinates of installation locations.
- Plot customer, meter and installation locations using GIS and mapping tools.
- Maintain accurate digital records of completed and pending installations.
- Update GIS databases following new installations, relocations, replacements or changes to existing installations.
- Assist in producing maps, location plans and other GIS reports required by the Operations and Management teams.
- Ensure that GIS records correspond with actual field conditions and installation records.
B. Installation & Site Verification
- Support the installation team in identifying and verifying customer locations before installation.
- Conduct field visits to confirm installation addresses, coordinates, landmarks and accessibility.
- Capture GPS coordinates and other relevant site information using approved mobile/GIS applications.
- Verify that the location provided by customers or the Sales Team corresponds with the actual installation site.
- Identify potential location, access or mapping challenges that may affect installation activities.
- Support the team in planning installation routes and grouping installations by geographical areas.
Installation Data Management
- Maintain accurate records of installed meters, including location, customer information, meter number and installation status.
- Cross-check field installation information against the company's internal records.
- Identify missing, inconsistent or inaccurate location data and escalate issues for correction.
- Ensure completed installation information is properly uploaded and reflected in the GIS database.
- Maintain records of pending, completed, failed and rescheduled installations.
- Accompany installation teams when required to provide GIS and location support.
- Assist technicians in navigating to installation locations.
- Support the identification of hard-to-find locations using GPS, maps, landmarks and other available tools.
- Record field observations and report discrepancies between planned and actual installation locations.
- Assist in documenting installation sites through photographs and other approved field evidence where required.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare regular GIS and installation reports for the supervisor.
- Provide daily/weekly updates on installation locations covered and outstanding locations.
- Generate maps and location summaries to support operational planning.
- Maintain proper documentation of field activities and installation data.
- Assist with analysis of installation coverage and geographical distribution.
Data Quality & Compliance
- Ensure that all GIS and installation data is accurate, complete and properly maintained.
- Follow Turbo Energy's procedures for data collection, documentation and information security.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and company information.
- Report any discrepancies, errors or suspected fraudulent installation records to the appropriate supervisor.
- Ensure that field data is submitted within the required timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree, HND or OND in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geomatics, Surveying, Geography and Environmental Management, Urban and Regional Planning, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional training or certification in GIS will be an advantage.
- 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in GIS, field mapping, surveying, telecommunications, utilities, energy, metering or a related field.
- Fresh graduates with relevant GIS training and strong field capabilities may be considered.
