We are looking for a Junior Azure Cloud / Infrastructure Engineer with foundational knowledge of Microsoft Azure, cloud infrastructure and DevOps to support the deployment, maintenance and monitoring of a health information platform hosted on Azure.
The successful candidate does not need extensive production Azure experience but should understand the fundamentals of Azure and cloud infrastructure and have some hands-on exposure through work experience, projects, labs or certifications.
You will work alongside experienced DevOps engineers to configure development and staging environments, support CI/CD pipelines and assist with the management and monitoring of Azure infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Support the configuration and maintenance of Azure cloud environments.
Assist with setting up and managing development, staging and production infrastructure.
Support CI/CD pipeline configuration and deployment processes.
Assist with Azure identity and access management.
Support the management of Azure resources, virtual networks and related infrastructure.
Assist with database and application infrastructure management.
Support security configurations, including access controls, firewall rules and network security.
Monitor infrastructure and application performance and assist with troubleshooting.
Assist with patching, system updates and routine infrastructure maintenance.
Work with the DevOps team to investigate and resolve infrastructure issues.
Maintain infrastructure documentation and configuration records.
Follow established security and infrastructure management standards.
Participate in knowledge transfer and gradually take ownership of assigned Azure infrastructure tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Azure.
Understanding of core Azure services and cloud infrastructure concepts.
Basic knowledge of Azure Identity and Access Management (IAM) and role-based access control.
Understanding of networking fundamentals, including virtual networks, subnets, firewalls and security groups.
Basic understanding of CI/CD and deployment pipelines.
Familiarity with Linux server environments.
Familiarity with Git and version control.
Basic scripting or automation skills.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read logs and interpret alerts
Willingness to learn and work with production cloud infrastructure.
Desirable:
Microsoft Azure certification such as AZ-900 or AZ-104.
Exposure to Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure SQL or PostgreSQL.
Experience with Microsoft Entra ID.
Exposure to Azure Monitor and logging.
Familiarity with Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates.
Experience with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or other CI/CD tools.
Experience with Docker and containerised applications.
Exposure to cloud security and infrastructure best practices.
Experience:
0 - 3 years of relevant experience is acceptable. Candidates with practical Azure projects, cloud labs, internships, certifications or personal projects are encouraged to apply.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate that they have actually worked with or practised using Azure, rather than only having general knowledge of cloud computing.
What matters most: foundational Azure knowledge, some hands-on exposure and the ability to learn and work effectively alongside an experienced DevOps team.
