Job Summary

  • We seek a highly organized, results-oriented IT Support Officer to oversee the company systems, network connection and IT equipment.
  • The IT Support officer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the organization's IT infrastructure by providing technical support, maintaining computer systems and network connectivity, and resolving hardware and software issues.
  • The role supports business continuity by troubleshooting technical problems, managing user accounts and system access, configuring IT resources for new employees, and ensuring all IT systems operate efficiently to meet the organization's operational needs.
  • The ideal candidate must possess strong technical troubleshooting skills, be proficient in supporting computer systems, networks, ERP applications, and other business software, and have a proven ability to resolve technical issues efficiently while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • The role requires a proactive individual with excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills who can effectively support users, maintain IT infrastructure, and ensure the reliability, security, and continuous availability of the organization's technology systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the helpdesk. When someone at depot cannot log into the ERP, you fix it. When the printer at head office jams during a critical run, you sort it. You are the first call.
  • Keep the local area network, Wi-Fi, and internet infrastructure at head office and key depot locations healthy. You will know when something is degrading before users start complaining.
  • Set up and configure laptops, desktops, and mobile devices for new staff. Not just switching them on - configuring email, ERP access, printers, and permissions correctly from day one.
  • Maintain an accurate, current register of every piece of IT equipment and software licence the Company owns. If someone asks what laptop a depot has and when it was last serviced, you have that answer in under 3 minutes.
  • Coordinate with the ERP vendor when issues go beyond first-line support. You will not always fix it yourself - but you will own the problem until it is resolved.
  • Train non-technical staff on new tools, systems, or policies in plain language.
  • Enforce IT security practices: screen locks, software updates, phishing awareness, data handling - without making people feel policed.
  • Support the Administration team on CCTV, access control, and any technology tied to physical security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (minimum of second class lower) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Systems Engineering, or Information Systems.
  • At minimum 3 years of hands-on IT support experience - not theoretical, not just certifications. You have sat across from a frustrated user with a broken system and fixed it.
  • Working knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Excel, OneDrive), and general networking (routers, switches, Wi-Fi, basic IP troubleshooting).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems - you do not have to be a developer, but you should not be frightened of one.
  • Experience managing users and permissions across an Active Directory or cloud-based environment.
  • A CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent is an advantage. A track record of solving real problems matters more.
  • Strong written and verbal communication. A large part of this job is explaining things clearly to people who do not want to understand the technical detail - they want their problem solved.
