Job Summary

The Core Infrastructure Engineer role helps to reduce infrastructure downtime and operational risks, ensure the resolution of VM and server-related issues, and timely execution of server administration and maintenance tasks.

Requirement

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, Linux, or equivalent IT certifications will be an advantage
• 3 - 5 years' experience in system/server administration.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Linux, and virtualisation/VM environments.
• Experience with and strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft technologies managing user accounts in Active Directory
• Understanding of networking (LAN, Wi-Fi, DNS, VPN).

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows/Linux servers and virtual machines (VMs) to ensure availability, performance, and reliability.
• Monitor server, VM, storage, and system performance and proactively resolve issues.
• Perform server provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Manage and monitor backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to ensure data availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve server, VM, operating system, and infrastructure-related incidents.
• Manage server capacity, resource utilization, and infrastructure performance.
• Implement security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and system updates in line with IT security requirements.
• Maintain accurate system documentation, configurations, asset records, and technical procedures.
• Support infrastructure projects, system deployments, migrations, and technology upgrades.
• Liaise with vendors and service providers on infrastructure-related incidents and technical escalations.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, standards, SLAs, and operational procedures
