Inventory Planning & Control
- Develop and implement effective inventory management plans and controls.
- Establish minimum, maximum and reorder stock levels.
- Forecast material requirements based on project schedules and consumption patterns.
- Coordinate inventory planning with Procurement and Construction teams.
- Monitor stock availability across all project locations.
- Oversee the receipt, storage and issuance of inventory items.
- Ensure all inventory transactions are accurately recorded.
- Monitor inventory movements between sites and locations.
- Enforce proper inventory controls and segregation of duties.
- Ensure compliance with approved inventory management procedures.
Stock Verification & Reconciliation
- Conduct and supervise periodic inventory inspections.
- Coordinate weekly and monthly stock counts.
- Lead quarterly and annual physical inventory exercises.
- Reconcile physical stock against inventory records.
- Investigate stock variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Asset Protection
- Ensure inventory is stored securely and appropriately.
- Monitor material preservation and handling practices.
- Minimise obsolete, damaged, expired and wasted stock.
- Strengthen controls against theft, fraud and unauthorised stock movements.
- Ensure Company materials, tools, equipment and consumables are properly accounted for.
- Inventory Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain:
- Weekly Inventory Status Reports.
- Monthly Inventory Control Dashboards.
- Quarterly Stock Variance Reports.
- Annual Inventory Performance Reports.
- Use inventory data to identify consumption trends, potential shortages, excess stock and opportunities for improved cost and asset efficiency.
AUTHORITY & ACCOUNTABILITY
- The Inventory Lead will be authorised to:
- Enforce approved inventory control procedures.
- Coordinate Company-wide stock verification exercises.
- Recommend replenishment based on approved stock levels.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and variances.
- Recommend corrective actions relating to inventory losses.
- Escalate significant inventory risks and control issues to the General Manager.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of Inventory Officers and Site Store teams within approved procedures.
- The role does not have authority to independently approve procurement purchases, inventory write-offs or disposal of Company assets outside delegated authority.
We are looking for a strong inventory and stores professional with experience in construction, real estate development, manufacturing, engineering, warehousing or a related operational environment.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
- Strong knowledge of inventory and stock control systems.
- Experience managing inventory across multiple locations or project sites.
- Strong reconciliation and variance-investigation skills.
- Experience supervising stores or inventory teams.
- Good understanding of material receiving, storage and issuance controls.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Ability to identify and prevent inventory losses, wastage and unauthorised movements.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation discipline.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- High integrity, accountability and asset-consciousness.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory/ERP management systems.
- A degree or HND in Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field is preferred. Relevant professional certification will be an advantage.

- Inventory record accuracy.
- Availability of critical construction materials.
- Reduction in stock variances and discrepancies.
- Reduction in theft, wastage and damaged stock.
- Completion of scheduled stock counts and reconciliations.
- Compliance with inventory control procedures.

- Efficient utilisation of Company materials and assets.
