Primary Responsibility:

Reporting to the Claims Manager, the Internal Motor Assessor shall assist in the planning and execution of effective and efficient operational performance of the Claims department with respect to the motor vehicle assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost reduction: Motor claims reduction measures including getting discounts from dealers and sub-dealers, encouraging more cash in lieu, enrolling of part suppliers (Nairobi & Upcountry), negotiating for lower mark-ups
  • Facilitate sign up with mid-sized panel of garages in all regions and opening of accounts with the dealers while discussing the best discounts on parts and coming up with SLA's
  • Carrying out assessments and re-inspection for vehicles in the Nairobi region and reviewing of external assessors' reports
  • Review of assessment reports within 12 hours
  • Monitor repair progress on customer vehicles to ensure standards repairs approved by KEMRA are being undertaken
  • Carry out random checks on Garages to ensure that they maintain professionalism integrity and meet the standard of our customers
  • Get involved, assist in testing and adopting of new system for accident scene management, claims assessment/re-assessment
  • Implement cash in lieu with a target of 60M Annually.
  • Report fraud cases detected in Motor claims and propose measures to mitigate fraud.
  • Prepare monthly reports for saving cost by 5th of every month
  • Any other duties assigned to you by the Claims Manager that are pertinent to the Claims Department.

Knowledge & Work Experience

  • At least 2 years' working experience in insurance industry in a similar role

Academic and Professional Qualifications required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • COP in Insurance
