Job Responsibilities

Instrumentation, Control and Automation

  • Develop and review instrumentation design deliverables: P&ID inputs, instrument index, datasheets, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, cable schedules, JB schedules, I/O lists, cause & effect diagrams, and control system architecture drawings.
  • Size and select field instruments (flow, pressure, temperature, level, analytical), control valves, PSVs, and actuated valves.
  • Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL assessment, and constructability reviews.
  • Ensure design compliance with hazardous area classification and protection requirements.
  • Develop Instrument Datasheet and System Architecture as well as Bill of Materials
  • Field Instrument Integration and Panel Installation Supervision
  • Define functional requirements Documents for DCS, PLC, SCADA, ESD/SIS, and Fire & Gas systems.
  • Coordinate and witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
  • Support integration of packaged unit control systems with the main plant control system.
  • Provide site engineering support for instrument installation, tubing, cabling, terminations, and grounding.
  • Supervise loop checks, calibration, functional testing, and pre-commissioning activities.

System Integration Services

  • Support commissioning and start-up, punch list closure, and handover documentation.
  • Prepare as-built documentation and turnover packages.
  • Manage the engineering documents in your discipline through the document control system (MDR/TQ/RFI tracking).
  • Support man-hour estimates, progress reporting, and management of scope changes.
  • Enforce HSE, quality on all assigned activities.

Project Design

  • Develops and supervise the draughting of Drawings for Specific Projects
  • Develops Bill of Quantities for Projects from shop drawings and from Consultant / Clients drawings for purpose of tendering.

Project Planning

  • Prepares Budget and time schedules for Projects
  • Prepares Project Design Drawings, Shop Drawings and "As Built Drawing
  • Ensure Proper handling of Company Tools and Equipment as well as Maintenance
  • Reads and understands Contract Documents

Project/Site Coordination

  • Provides Technical Evaluation of Sub-contractors and commercial inputs
  • Attends site meetings with Clients and other Contractors on site
  • Ensures compliance with and implementation of Quality Control procedure for all incoming materials.
  • Delegates authority and ensures subordinates are adequately engaged.
  • Support Commercial Departments for inputs in Tendering with relevant inputs
  • Supervise the Technician and Sub Contractors on site during Installation
  • Ensures cordial relationships with Clients

Requirements

  • B.Eng/B.Sc in Instrumentation and Control, Electrical/Electronics.
  • Membership of COREN, NSE or Relevant Professional Body will be of added advantage.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Power Point, Visio, PDF; knowledge of use of AutoCAD will be of added advantage.
  • Experience with upstream, midstream, or downstream facilities (flow stations, gas plants, pipelines, terminals, refineries, or offshore platforms).
  • Experience working with international clients and IOCs/NOCs is highly desirable.

Qualification:

  • B.Eng/B.Sc. in Instrumentation and Control, Electrical/Electronics
  • Minimum 10 years post qualification experience in the Oil and Gas Sector and/or Power Transmission/Distribution Sector.
