The role is responsible for building the center from the ground up designing processes, developing a team of up to five staff, and serving as the primary point of contact for country office finance teams and headquarters leadership. Key Responsibilities
Lead daytoday operations of the Shared Services Center (accounts payable, journal entries, intercompany transactions, reconciliations).
Establish and monitor servicelevel agreements (SLAs) with country offices and HQ.
Coordinate with country finance staff to resolve queries and ensure completeness of monthend close.
Provide coverage during staff transitions.
Support offices with audit requests.Process Design & Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for automation, system improvements and process simplification.
Develop performance dashboards and KPIs; report results to senior finance leadership.
Build team capacity to take on additional responsibilities.Team Leadership & Talent Development
Recruit, onboard and supervise up to three Shared Services staff.
Set performance objectives, conduct reviews and support professional development.
Deliver training on accounting tasks, reconciliations, NetSuite operations and countryspecific requirements.
Monitor workload and adjust capacity allocation proactively.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.Compliance & Controls
Ensure transactions comply with IPA policies, donor requirements and accounting (adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});standards.
Support audits with required documentation.
Maintain segregation of duties between Shared Services and country treasury functions.Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
Serve as liaison between Shared Services, country offices and HQ Global Finance.
Oversee generation of monthly financial reports.
Lead regular checkins with country finance leads.
Communicate process changes, training requirements and service updates.
Contribute to crossfunctional finance transformation projects.Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum 7 years’ progressive accounting experience, including 3 years supervisory.
Experience in shared services, BPO or centralized finance environment.
Full proficiency in English and Spanish.
Strong knowledge of accounts payable, general ledger and internal controls.
Proficiency with ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) and advanced Excel.
Experience in multicurrency and multicountry accounting operations.
CPA, CA or equivalent certification preferred.
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred.
Experience with nonprofit, international development or donorfunded organizations preferred.
