The Housekeeping Officer is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment across the building and its surrounding areas. The role involves supervising and coordinating cleaning staff and gardeners, conducting daily inspections and walk-rounds, monitoring housekeeping standards, managing cleaning and hygiene supplies, and ensuring prompt follow-up on maintenance and tenant Helpdesk requests.
- Resume work on time and maintain punctuality.
- Ensure that all surrounding work areas are clean, tidy, and well maintained to promote a safe environment.
- Ensure that the work environment is safe on a daily basis.
- Conduct daily routine checks around the store and building to ensure that all required safety measures are in place.
- Comply with all safety rules and ensure that all assigned PPE is properly used.
- Ensure that all work areas are safe before carrying out assigned duties.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming, and tidy environment for staff and visitors.
- Ensure the economical and safe use of cleaning supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure that all sanitary areas, including toilets and bathrooms, are kept clean, hygienic, and properly sanitized.
- Report faulty or malfunctioning equipment to the Helpdesk and Maintenance Team for necessary action.
- Liaise with other staff members and visitors regarding cleaning requests and related requirements.
- Check emails received from tenants and respond or coordinate accordingly.
- Monitor Helpdesk tickets raised by tenants on a daily basis and ensure that they are properly followed up until closure.
- Maintain good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Attend team meetings, training sessions, and other relevant programmes, and provide support to other team members when required.
- Conduct daily walk-rounds of the floors to check lighting, air-conditioning, general cleanliness, and the Kings College car park to ensure that all areas are properly maintained.
- Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of the garden, including flowers, grass, trees, and other landscaping areas.
- Prepare and arrange rooms for meetings, seminars, and other events, including the provision of snacks and lunch as requested.
- Assist with the dispensing, monitoring, and management of office consumables such as hand wash, sanitizers, soap, and other related items.
- Participate in Facilities performance monitoring, evaluation, and development review activities.
- Organize, supervise, and coordinate the activities of all cleaning staff.
- Organize and coordinate appropriate training for cleaning staff to improve their performance and service delivery.
- Ensure that waste is removed regularly by LAWMA to maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the compound.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior officers
- Basic computer literacy including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Educational Qualification:
- HND / BSC in any related field.
- 3-5 years experience
- Similar experience in a high rise building will be an added advantage.
