Role Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to provide strategic leadership in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization's Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), and Sustainability frameworks.
  • The successful candidate will ensure compliance with applicable regulations, ISO standards, ESG requirements, industry best practices, and company policies while driving a strong culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainability across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead workplace health, safety, environmental, and sustainability initiatives, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, ISO standards, and corporate policies.
  • Conduct regular factory, warehouse, and workplace inspections, identify hazards and residual risks, and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Oversee incident, accident, near-miss, and fire investigations, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented and reported.
  • Supervise the implementation of safe work procedures, Permit-to-Work systems, emergency preparedness, fire safety, and risk management practices.
  • Coordinate HSE inductions, trainings, meetings, drills, and awareness programmes for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Lead waste management, environmental monitoring, Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) activities, and pollution prevention initiatives.
  • Ensure the effective implementation and continual improvement of the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2015) and Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
  • Monitor environmental aspects and impacts and ensure required environmental parameters and statutory reports are submitted to relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, environmental consultants, certification bodies, contractors, and other external stakeholders on HSE and environmental matters.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual HSE/ESG reports, dashboards, statistics, and compliance reports to management.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to HSE personnel and coordinate cross-functional teams to strengthen the organization's safety and sustainability culture.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. Degree in a Science-related discipline.
  • HSE Level 3 Supervisory Certification.
  • IOSH Managing Safely/Managing Safety certification.
  • NEBOSH certification.
  • ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), preferably within a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical, or related industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, environmental regulations, risk assessment, incident investigation, waste management, and emergency response.
  • Good understanding of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ESG, and environmental sustainability practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
