Role Description The Head of I.T (Microfinance Bank) will lead the technology function for the bank, ensuring that all systems, infrastructure, and applications support secure, efficient, and compliant operations. This full-time, on-site role is based in Benin City and involves overseeing core banking systems, digital channels, networks, and cybersecurity controls. The role includes managing the I.T team, setting technology strategy aligned with business objectives, and coordinating with senior leadership on system upgrades, integrations, and vendor management. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring system performance, ensuring data protection and regulatory compliance, resolving critical incidents, and implementing technology solutions that improve customer experience and operational efficiency. The Head of I.T will also develop policies, procedures, and I.T governance frameworks to support risk management and business continuity.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership experience in managing I.T teams and functions within a financial services or banking environment, preferably microfinance.
• Proficiency in core banking systems, digital banking platforms, databases, and financial technology integrations.
• Solid understanding of network infrastructure, server management, cloud or hybrid environments, and systems administration.
• Expertise in cybersecurity, data protection, access control, and regulatory compliance relevant to the financial sector.
• Experience with I.T governance, risk management, business continuity planning, and disaster recovery.
• Ability to manage technology vendors, negotiate service-level agreements, and oversee implementation projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose system issues and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, CISA, PMP) are an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience in an on-site leadership role and readiness to work full time in Benin City.
