Our client, an established organisation within the Short-Term Insurance sector, is seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Claims to lead its claims operations based in Centurion. The successful candidate will oversee the claims function, drive operational excellence, strengthen insurer relationships, and ensure effective claims governance, compliance and service delivery. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the claims function. Manage end-to-end claims operations and departmental performance. Oversee Binder/UMA claims processes and insurer relationships. Ensure compliance with FAIS, FSCA and applicable insurance regulations. Lead, mentor and develop high-performing claims teams. Oversee complex claims, escalations, fraud prevention and risk management. Drive operational efficiencies, process improvements and automation. Manage claims reporting, financial controls, budgets and performance metrics. Maintain strong relationships with insurers, brokers and key stakeholders. Ensure excellent customer experience and effective claims resolution. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor''s degree in Insurance, Business, Risk Management or a related field. Minimum 10 years'' experience within the Short-Term Insurance industry, including senior claims management experience. RE1 and RE5 certifications. Relevant NQF Level 4 insurance qualification. Strong Binder/UMA experience and knowledge of insurer relationships. Proven track record in managing claims operations and leading teams. Strong knowledge of insurance governance, compliance and risk management. Excellent strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
