About the role

To lead the finance function, ensuring sound financial management, accurate reporting, effective controls and the financial sustainability of the hospital, in line with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Ensure accurate, timely financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Establish and maintain internal financial controls, and support internal and external audit.
• Oversee treasury, cash flow, payables, receivables and the revenue cycle (including managed-care billing and collections).
• Ensure compliance with tax and statutory financial obligations.
• Advise management on financial performance, risk and sustainability.
• Lead, supervise and develop finance staff.
• Support procurement and contract financial governance.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting standards and internal controls.
• Ability to lead financial planning, reporting and audit.
• Understanding of healthcare revenue cycle and managed-care billing.Ability to lead and develop a finance team.
• Strong analytical, communication and reporting skills.

Experience

• Substantial experience in financial management and accounting, including at a senior level.
• Experience leading a finance function and managing financial reporting and controls.
• Experience with audit, budgeting and treasury.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• Completion of NYSC, or a valid exemption where applicable.
