Gse Manager At Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited (sahcol)

• We are seeking an experienced, highly qualified and technically proficient Manager to lead our GSE team in Port Harcourt.

Responsibilities:

• Accountable for the overall management of the GSE teams in the areas of staff budgeting, discipline, performance management, training and development.
• Ensure the most efficient and most cost-effective use of staff and outsourced labour.
• Ensures the safety of staff by support and development of a culture where all the people operating GSE possess the skills, knowledge and confidence to work safely, feel respected and are engaged in helping everyone stay safe.
• Be a role model for the desired safe behaviours, wear the appropriate PPE, seek opportunities to celebrate successes and achievements and challenge others when risks are seen.
• Responsible for ensuring that Aircraft Turnaround adheres to safety and security regulations at all airports, whilst taking ownership to escalate and manage all irregularities to the Station Manager.
• Be able to identify and develop staff that can be groomed into the GSE unit over time.
• Accountable for the development, management and adherence of Aircraft GSE activities, ensuring that services provided are in line with agreed Service Level Agreements with the customer airlines.
• Provide prompt response to equipment service requests.
• Comply with established company or government safety policies and procedure.
• Have a working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and required documentations.
• Review and audit the unit's performance standards and procedures presenting recommendations to the Station Manager for improvement in SAHCO's provision of Aircraft Handling to our customer airlines.
• Establish and manage effective working relationships with internal and external customers to ensure highest levels of services are offered.
• Make recommendations and provide proactive improvement feedback through the Station Manager.
• Any other duties assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum of B.Sc./HND in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 10 years' relevant work experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Evidence of relevant professional training and certifications.
• Sound understanding of machinery operation and maintenance principles.
• Ability to operate a variety of Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
• Knowledge of the aviation industry will be an added advantage.
• Good visual acuity.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other relevant IT tools.
