Our client is looking for a commercially minded Group Tax Manager to provide tax guidance across its international operations. Reporting to the Group CFO, this role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of international tax, commercial decision-making and financial governance, helping the business navigate cross-border transactions while managing tax exposure across multiple jurisdictions. This is a specialist, hands-on position suited to a tax professional who can interpret complex tax matters, challenge external advice and translate technical requirements into practical business recommendations. You will coordinate a network of in-country tax consultants, oversee group-level tax obligations and work closely with Finance, Legal, Treasury and commercial stakeholders to ensure tax considerations are addressed before decisions are implemented. Key Responsibilities Provide commercial tax guidance on contracts, pricing, tenders, restructurings, new-market activities and cross-border transactions. Coordinate international tax and transfer pricing matters, including intercompany arrangements, funding structures and supporting documentation. Assess VAT, other indirect taxes and withholding tax implications across customer, supplier and intercompany transactions. Oversee group tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions by managing tax calendars, coordinating local advisers and monitoring filing and payment deadlines. Monitor tax risks, support tax accounting and reporting, and coordinate tax-related audit requirements and tax authority queries. Advise the Group CFO and business stakeholders on tax developments, practical risk mitigation and opportunities to improve tax processes and controls. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, Law or a related field. A postgraduate tax qualification, such as an Honours degree, Higher Diploma or MCom in Taxation, will be advantageous. Approximately 4-6 years of relevant tax experience gained in a professional services firm, multinational business or multi-jurisdictional environment. Practical exposure to corporate tax, international tax, transfer pricing, withholding tax and cross-border VAT or other indirect taxes. Experience coordinating external tax advisers and working with tax accounting, provisions, reconciliations or financial statement disclosures. Strong research, analytical and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical tax matters in a clear, commercially practical manner. The opportunity? To influence commercial decisions, strengthen tax governance and help a growing international business navigate the tax implications of operating across borders. If you combine sound technical tax knowledge with commercial awareness, sound judgement and a practical approach to problem-solving, this could be the next step in your career.
