Role Summary
Ucalux Construction Management and Contracting is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial and cost management activities of our construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the Quantity Surveying, Procurement, Project Management, and Finance teams to assist with cost estimation, measurement, documentation, valuations, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing quantity take-offs, bills of quantities, and cost estimates.
Support the measurement and valuation of construction work completed.
Assist with the preparation and review of material and labour cost estimates.
Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, invoices, and payment certificates.
Support the review of subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Assist in monitoring project expenditure against approved budgets.
Participate in site measurements and inspections when required.
Support the preparation of interim valuations, cost reports, and commercial documentation.
Assist with tracking variations, claims, and other cost-related changes.
Liaise with Procurement, Site Engineers, Project Managers, and suppliers to obtain relevant cost information.
Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Quantity Surveyor or Management.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
1-2 Years of experience
NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter.
Strong knowledge of basic quantity surveying principles and construction measurement.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of construction materials, pricing, and cost estimation is an advantage.
Good numerical, analytical, and documentation skills.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work at project sites when required.
