We are seeking a diligent Security Officer on a 3-month contract to ensure the safety and security of our premises and personnel. You will be responsible for monitoring activities, controlling access, and responding to emergencies, all while maintaining a visible and reassuring presence.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and patrol designated areas to deter and detect security violations.
Control access to premises by screening visitors and issuing identification badges.
Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, conducting investigations and reporting findings.
Maintain detailed records of daily activities and any unusual occurrences.
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies as necessary during incidents.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Provide assistance and information to employees and visitors as needed.
Conduct regular inspections of security equipment and report any issues for repair.
Requirements
Valid Grade C Psira certificate
Proven track record in a security-related role or similar capacity.
Strong observational skills and the ability to respond effectively in crisis situations.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information clearly.
Familiarity with security systems and surveillance equipment.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in security or related fields (e.g., PSIRA registration).
Experience in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
First aid and CPR certification.
Knowledge of emergency response and safety protocols.
