How do you make global payroll scale with growth? Unite governance, technology and transformation.

Is this you?

Strategic judgement, commercial awareness and an instinct for rigorous control define how you lead. You can turn complex global payroll challenges into clear decisions, earn credibility with senior leaders and inspire geographically dispersed teams. Accuracy and confidentiality are non-negotiable, even while transformation is moving at pace.

What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it)

Setting the multi-year global payroll strategy, you will build a scalable operating model, governance framework and technology roadmap across multiple jurisdictions. You will lead acquisition integrations, new market set-ups, audits, regulatory change and process improvement while strengthening controls. As senior payroll adviser, you will present risks and performance insights to leadership, develop the payroll team and hold global service providers accountable against agreed standards.

Where you'll be doing it

Within a multi-jurisdictional professional services organisation, payroll supports business growth, acquisitions and international expansion. This hybrid Cape Town role sits in a collaborative Human Resources and Reward environment where sensitive employee data, regulatory compliance and continuity of service demand consistently high professional standards.

What you'll need

A relevant accounting qualification or bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, finance or a related field is essential, while a master's degree is preferred. Bring at least 10 years' payroll or similar experience within professional services, including leadership responsibility. Global payroll experience - covering global team management, regulations, statutory reporting, payroll systems, analytics and project management should be established strengths, supported by clear executive communication and cross-cultural collaboration. You will be required to travel to the UK and USA at some stage.

What you'll get

The opportunity combines global influence with practical transformation scope. You will shape governance, technology, automation and analytics while guiding payroll through acquisitions and international growth. A hybrid working environment and direct exposure to senior leadership add breadth to a role with meaningful strategic ownership.
