About the Role

  • Our client is an established, independent 182-bed mid-scale (3-star) hotel group known for delivering excellent hospitality, extensive conference facilities, and vibrant recreation services. The property caters to a busy mix of corporate, leisure, and event clientele, demanding high-level operational efficiency and a sharp focus on commercial growth.
  • Reporting directly to the Ownership and Board of Directors, the General Manager will provide overarching leadership and operational accountability for the entire property. The successful candidate will translate the approved business plan into robust financial performance, exceptional service standards, and strong team development across all hospitality divisions. This is a top-tier leadership role requiring a strategic, hand-on executor who can drive profitability while safeguarding asset value and brand reputation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Execution: Lead the execution of the hotel's annual business plan, operating budgets, service standards, and strategic priorities.
  • HOD Accountability: Direct, mentor, and hold accountable all Heads of Department (HODs) through clear targets, strict reporting, and regular performance reviews.
  • Guest Experience: Own the overall guest journey and service delivery across rooms, food and beverage, conferencing, and recreation.
  • Commercial Growth: Drive total revenue growth, occupancy, corporate conference sales, and strict cost discipline alongside Sales and Finance teams.
  • Financial Oversight: Review management accounts, forecasts, payroll efficiency, expenditure, procurement cycles, and capital requirement investments.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure strict revenue assurance, credit control, transparent purchasing discipline, and proper utilization of all hotel assets.
  • Talent Management: Lead workforce planning, senior leadership recruitment, performance appraisals, and structured management development programs.
  • Statutory Compliance: Guarantee complete compliance with licensing, health and safety, food safety, labor laws, and security operational mandates.
  • Supply Chain: Oversee executive-level procurement, stores management, and vendor performance to ensure absolute value for money.
  • Action Tracking: Chair routine HOD meetings, translating management decisions into measurable actions and firm deadlines.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Maintain highly professional relationships with property owners, corporate clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Crisis Management: Lead business continuity planning and direct responses to major guest or operational incidents.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a commercial-minded, high-integrity hospitality executive with a proven track record of managing full-service hotel operations. To excel in this high-accountability role, you should fit the following profile:

  • Experience: Strictly 8 - 10+ years of progressive hotel management experience, with substantial years spent in senior leadership managing multiple departments and HODs.
  • Track Record: Demonstrated capability to hit hotel revenue targets, control costs, manage budgets, and smoothly handle high-volume conference and room surges.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A postgraduate management qualification is a highly valued bonus.
  • Skills: Proficient with hotel PMS/POS systems, executive management reporting, advanced revenue management, and structured cost-control frameworks.
  • Vibe & Style: Strong people leader, exceptional negotiator, and highly decisive under pressure. You must possess the professional gravitas to manage complex stakeholder and owner relationships seamlessly.
