Job Summary

• The Furniture Assembler will be responsible for assembling furniture components and ensuring that finished products are correctly constructed, aligned, functional, and meet the company's quality standards.
• The successful candidate should have good practical and technical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently with hand tools, power tools, and different furniture materials.

Key Responsibilities

Furniture Assembly:

• Assemble furniture products according to drawings, instructions, measurements, and production specifications.
• Assemble components including cabinets, tables, chairs, beds, wardrobes, shelves, sofas, and other furniture products.
• Fit hinges, handles, drawer runners, brackets, screws, bolts, fittings, and other hardware.
• Ensure all components are properly aligned, secured, and fitted.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly.
• Carry out final adjustments to ensure doors, drawers, joints, and moving parts operate properly.
• Identify missing, damaged, or incorrectly manufactured components before assembly.
• Work closely with the Production and Design teams to resolve assembly-related issues.

Quality Control:

• Inspect furniture during and after assembly for defects and workmanship.
• Ensure finished products meet approved designs, dimensions, and quality standards.
• Check for loose fittings, uneven joints, scratches, gaps, misalignment, and other defects.
• Make necessary adjustments or repairs before products move to the next stage or are delivered to customers.
• Maintain high standards of finishing and presentation.

Tools & Equipment:

• Safely operate drills, screwdrivers, saws, sanders, nail guns, and other relevant workshop tools.
• Maintain and properly store tools and equipment.
• Report damaged or faulty tools and equipment to the Production Manager.
• Keep the assembly area clean, organized, and safe.

Production Support:

• Meet daily and weekly assembly targets.
• Work efficiently while maintaining product quality.
• Handle furniture components and materials carefully to prevent damage.
• Assist with packaging and preparation of completed furniture for delivery when required.
• Support other production activities when necessary.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in furniture assembly, carpentry, cabinetry, joinery, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a furniture manufacturing or workshop environment is strongly preferred.
• Good knowledge of furniture components, fittings, hardware, and assembly methods.
• Ability to read basic drawings, measurements, and assembly instructions.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Good understanding of materials such as MDF, plywood, particle board, solid wood, metal, and furniture hardware.
• Good practical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a workshop environment.
