IMPORTANT INDUSTRY REQUIREMENT A minimum of 5 years' direct Formwork experience is essential. Candidates must have practical experience working on formwork projects within the construction industry . General construction experience without proven formwork exposure will not be sufficient for this position. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee formwork projects and site operations from start to completion. Plan, coordinate and supervise the supply, erection, use and dismantling of formwork systems . Manage day-to-day site activities and ensure work progresses according to programme. Coordinate labour, subcontractors, materials, equipment and site resources. Supervise site teams and ensure productivity targets are achieved. Interpret construction drawings, specifications and project requirements. Ensure formwork is erected accurately and according to approved drawings and specifications. Monitor project progress against agreed programmes and deadlines. Identify potential delays or site problems and implement corrective actions. Liaise with clients, contractors, engineers, quantity surveyors and other construction professionals. Attend site and progress meetings. Coordinate formwork requirements with the main contractor and other trades. Ensure materials and equipment are available when required. Monitor material usage, stock and wastage on site. Assist with project planning, costing and resource requirements where necessary. Ensure work is completed within agreed project budgets and timelines. Manage variations and changes to project requirements. Maintain accurate site records, progress reports and relevant project documentation. Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the project. Monitor workmanship and address quality issues promptly. Ensure all site activities comply with occupational health and safety requirements. Maintain professional relationships with clients and project stakeholders. Minimum Requirements Minimum 5 years' proven experience in Formwork - essential. Previous experience as a Formwork Contracts Manager, Formwork Site Manager, Site Manager, Project Manager or similar role within the formwork sector. Strong practical knowledge of the supply, erection and management of formwork systems . Sound knowledge of construction site operations and building processes. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Experience managing construction teams, labour and subcontractors. Strong project planning and site coordination experience. Good understanding of construction health and safety requirements. Strong client and contractor liaison skills. Good administration and reporting ability. Valid driver's licence. Own reliable vehicle - essential. Must currently reside in Cape Town or the surrounding areas. Location Requirement Candidates must already be based in Cape Town or within reasonable commuting distance. This position is not intended for candidates requiring relocation . Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be an experienced Formwork Contracts Manager or Site Manager who has spent at least 5 years directly involved in formwork construction projects . They should understand the full formwork process, including planning, supply, erection, site coordination, labour management and project completion , and be comfortable managing projects and dealing directly with clients and contractors.
