Introduction

Novus Print: Paarden Eiland is seeking to permanently appoint an experienced and skilled Flexographic/Bag Machine Operator within the Operations department to operate the Nova Flexo Machine The successful incumbent will report to the Duty Manager.

Job Description

Set up and operate the Nova Flexographic printing/bag-making machine according to job specifications.
Prepare the machine for production, including loading substrates, inks and print components.
Set and maintain print registration, print position, tension and colour consistency.
Monitor the printing and bag-making process throughout production.
Conduct regular quality checks to ensure bags meet the required specifications.
Identify and correct print and machine-related defects.
Make machine adjustments to maintain optimal production and minimise waste.
Monitor ink levels, viscosity and colour during production.
Assist with plate/stereo changes, reel changes and job changeovers.
Ensure correct job specifications and materials are used.
Complete production and quality-control documentation accurately.
Perform basic machine cleaning and routine maintenance.
Identify machine faults and report technical problems to the relevant supervisor or maintenance team.
Maintain good housekeeping and ensure the work area is clean and safe.
Follow all company SOPs, health and safety requirements and quality standards.
Achieve daily production, efficiency and waste targets.

Minimum requirements

Matric/Equivalent
Minimum of 35 Years experience operating a flexographic printing or bag making machine
Experience in a flexible packaging, paper bag or printing environment will be advantageous.
Knowledge of flexographic printing processes, inks, substrates and print registration
Previous experience operating a Nova Flexo machine would be highly advantageous.
