Job Description

What you will do in this role:

  • Process financial transactions, including payments, retirements, and reimbursements.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Support budget tracking and expenditure monitoring.
  • Support reconciliation of accounts.
  • Deliver against the approved GHSD milestone plan and quarterly performance targets, integrating services across the HIV, TB, malaria, and MNCH platform and progressively transferring functions to Government of Nigeria ownership.
  • Support statutory remittance processing.

Minimum recruitment standard

Qualifications and experience we look for:

  • A first degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least four (4) years of experience in financial management, with experience on donor-funded projects preferred.
  • Professional Body Affiliations is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of financial record-keeping practices.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Donor Compliance & Reporting Ensure full compliance with organizational financial manual, donor regulations (NHF, NFF, etc.), and Nigerian financial laws. Prepare donor financial reports, monthly management accounts, and quarterly reports. Ensure all supporting documents are complete, authentic, and audit-ready. Support internal and external audits, donor verifications, and spot checks. Track staff and activity advances and ensure timely liquidation and retirement. Procurement & Operations Support Review procurement requests for budget availability and policy compliance. Participate in procurement committee processes and ensure procedures are followed. Proven experience with NHF, NFF, or other international donor financial requirements. Experience working in Borno context is highly desirable. Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and Advanced MS Excel. Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, NGO compliance, and audit processes.
