Job Summary inSupply Health is seeking an experienced Finance Director to provide strategic leadership and oversight of the organisation's finance and operations function. The Finance Director will play a key role in ensuring financial sustainability, effective resource allocation, strong financial governance, donor compliance, risk management and high-quality financial reporting. As a member of the Leadership and Senior Management Team, the role will advise the CEO and organisational leadership on financial strategy, organisational growth and the financial implications of strategic decisions. The role will also lead and develop the finance and operations function, working across a complex, multi-country environment to strengthen systems, processes, controls and organisational performance. Responsibilities: 1. Financial Strategy & Sustainability Develop and oversee financial strategies that support organisational sustainability and strategic priorities. Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO and senior leadership. Assess financial viability of new business opportunities and strategic initiatives. 2. Financial Performance, Budgeting & Resource Management Oversee financial performance, cash flow, forecasting and financial risk. Lead budgeting, revenue forecasting and cost management. Promote fiscal discipline, value for money and accountability for financial performance. 3. Financial Governance, Risk & Compliance Strengthen internal controls, financial governance and risk management. Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and donor requirements across operating countries. Oversee internal, external and donor audits and follow-up on audit findings. 4. Grants & Donor Financial Oversight Provide strategic oversight of grant and donor financial management. Ensure effective donor compliance, financial reporting and escalation of material financial and contractual risks. 5. Systems, Processes & Organisational Effectiveness Lead continuous improvement of financial policies, systems and processes. Strengthen the Finance, Grants and Operations operating model, accountability and delegated authority. Promote effective use of ERP and financial management systems. 6. Leadership & Team Development Lead, develop and motivate a high-performing finance and operations team. Build organisational capability and promote accountability Qualifications & Experience Academic & Professional Qualifications Master's and Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline from a recognised university. Qualified accountant with active membership of a recognised professional accounting body, such as ICPAK, ACCA or equivalent. Strong knowledge of financial governance, accounting, taxation, statutory and regulatory compliance. Professional Experience At least 12 years of progressive post-qualification experience, including at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role within an international development, consulting, non-profit or social-impact organisation. Demonstrated experience leading finance teams in complex, multi-country or multi-office environments, preferably within East Africa. Experience managing multi-donor grants, awards and contracts, including donor compliance, financial reporting and project-based financial management. Experience managing organisational or project budgets exceeding USD 10 million, including budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, cost control and financial performance analysis. Strong experience in risk management, internal controls, financial governance, taxation, statutory and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Experience overseeing internal, external and donor audits, including resolution of audit findings. Experience developing and improving financial policies, systems, processes and controls. Experience supporting business development and strategic initiatives, including proposal budgeting, pricing and financial viability assessments. Strong experience with ERP and financial-management systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics, together with advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills.
