Marketing & Communications Lead At Orchid Hr Outsourcing

Orchid HR Outsourcing

Nairobi, kenya

full-time

ABOUT THE ROLE Our client is a business technology solutions group headquartered in Nairobi and operating across multiple countries, serving healthcare, finance, education, hospitality, and real estate clients. Its portfolio spans customer experience management, visitor management, electronic security, and digital signage solutions, delivered through a family of distinct brands under one group. On their behalf, we are looking for a Marketing & Communications Lead to own and elevate the brand voice and communications strategy across the group and its portfolio of companies. You will lead marketing across the regional footprint, shaping how each brand is positioned individually and as part of the wider group, in Kenya and in the other countries of operation. Events are a core part of how the group engages clients and the market, and this role owns event management end-to-end from concept and planning through speaker sourcing, vendor coordination, and on-the-day execution. Dedicated teams already handle functions such as SEO and social media; your job is to coordinate them into one coherent communications strategy. This is not a purely oversight position: ownership means being willing to step in and execute hands-on wherever the work requires it, not simply directing others. We are looking for a dynamic and strategic professional who can drive our client\'s marketing and communication initiatives while supporting the organization's growth objectives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and execute the marketing and communications strategy for the group and its subsidiary brands across Kenya and other countries of operation. Own event management in full from initiation and planning, through securing speakers and vendors, to full execution and post-event follow-up. Lead, mentor, and manage a marketing team, setting priorities and ensuring consistent delivery. Coordinate and align the work of the existing SEO and social media teams into a unified communications strategy, stepping in hands-on to execute directly when the situation calls for it. Oversee brand positioning and messaging across all group companies, ensuring consistency while respecting each brand\'s distinct identity. Manage content development across digital channels, collateral, and client-facing materials. Collaborate with sales and business unit leads to align marketing initiatives with commercial goals. Track and report on marketing performance and event outcomes across channels and regions. Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies, speakers, and media partners. Own the marketing budget and report on ROI across campaigns and events. Develop and manage an annual marketing and events calendar aligned to business unit priorities, product launches, and regional plans. Plan and execute go-to-market and product launch campaigns for new solutions and new country entries. Drive demand-generation and lead-generation campaigns in partnership with sales, tracking their contribution to the pipeline. Lead public relations and media engagement, including press releases, thought-leadership content, and speaking opportunities that build brand visibility. Develop and maintain brand guidelines, ensuring consistent application across all markets, collateral, and partner materials. Conduct market, competitor, and customer research to inform brand positioning, messaging, and campaign planning. Create and curate customer case studies, testimonials, and success stories to support sales and credibility. Manage internal communications so teams across countries stay aligned on brand, company news, and priorities. Protect brand reputation by monitoring brand sentiment and leading communications during sensitive or high visibility situations. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Experience & Technical Background Minimum 3 - 4 years of experience leading a marketing team. Experience developing marketing strategy and translating it into measurable execution. Prior experience in the technology sector will be highly preferred. Experience working within a group of companies or a multi-business environment will be an added advantage, including marketing across multiple brands or business units under a single parent company. Familiarity with the technology, security, or customer experience solutions sectors. Experience working with or marketing to healthcare, finance, education, hospitality, or real estate clients. Budget management experience. Core Competencies Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, teams, and stakeholders simultaneously. A hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach comfortable both directing a team and personally executing when needed. Comfort working across multiple markets and regions. Leadership presence, with the ability to mentor a team and collaborate directly with senior leadership.
