Job Summary Aldelano Farms is seeking hardworking, disciplined and reliable Farm Attendants to support the daily production of open-field habanero peppers and greenhouse bell peppers. The successful candidates will carry out crop-management activities, maintain clean production areas, identify and report crop problems and follow all instructions relating to farm safety, hygiene and biosecurity. Applicants must be physically fit and willing to resume work immediately. Key Responsibilities Open-Field Habanero Pepper Operations Prepare land, beds and planting areas. Fill, arrange and maintain grow bags where applicable. Transplant habanero seedlings according to the approved spacing. Replace dead or weak plants as instructed. Water plants manually or support irrigation operations. Apply fertilizers and soil amendments under supervision. Weed plots and keep paths, drains and field surroundings clean. Mulch, stake, tie and prune pepper plants when required. Scout for pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies and damaged plants. Report symptoms such as leaf curling, mosaic patterns, wilting, root rot and unusual discoloration immediately. Remove severely diseased plants only when authorized. Assist with pesticide, fungicide and foliar-fertilizer applications. Harvest mature habanero fruits carefully. Sort, weigh and pack harvested peppers. Separate diseased, damaged, rotten and undersized fruits. Maintain accurate harvest and field-activity records. Greenhouse Bell Pepper Operations Follow greenhouse entry, hygiene and biosecurity procedures. Disinfect footwear, tools and hands before entering the greenhouse. Prevent unauthorized people, tools or materials from entering production areas. Transplant bell-pepper seedlings into beds, pots or grow bags. Monitor irrigation lines, emitters and drainage. Report blocked emitters, leaks, excessive moisture or dry growing media. Support fertigation activities according to supervisors' instructions. Train, stake, tie and prune bell-pepper plants. Remove suckers and old or damaged leaves as directed. Assist with flower and fruit management. Monitor sticky traps and record pests found. Scout for aphids, thrips, whiteflies, mites, caterpillars and diseases. Remove fallen leaves, fruits and other plant waste promptly. Harvest bell peppers at the required maturity and colour stage. Handle fruits carefully to prevent bruising, cuts and contamination. Clean and organize the greenhouse after every operation. General Duties Report to work on time and attend daily briefings. Follow the Farm Manager's, Supervisor's or Agronomist's instructions. Use tools, equipment and farm inputs responsibly. Clean tools and return them to the designated storage area. Wear assigned personal protective equipment. Follow chemical safety instructions and observe re-entry periods. Do not enter restricted areas after chemical application without authorization. Maintain personal hygiene and clean working areas. Record completed tasks, materials used and observations accurately. Report damaged equipment, irrigation faults, injuries and unsafe conditions immediately. Assist with other reasonable farm duties when assigned. Requirements Minimum of primary or secondary-school education. Previous experience in pepper, vegetable, greenhouse or open-field farming is an advantage. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to count, weigh and make simple farm records. Physically fit and able to work outdoors and inside a greenhouse. Willingness to work in hot, humid, wet or dusty conditions. Ability to bend, stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry farm materials safely. Willingness to work early mornings, weekends or extended hours when required. Must be honest, punctual, disciplined and respectful. Must work effectively as part of a team. Must follow hygiene, safety and biosecurity rules. Must be willing and available to resume immediately. Summary This is routine manual work in specialized farming activities on a poultry farm. Work involves performing a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled poultry related tasks in accordance with specific instructions or a well-established routine. Specialized tasks are also performed in connection with the caring for poultry. Work is subject to general supervision through inspections and review of results of work. Duties And Responsibilities Feeds, waters, and otherwise cares for poultry; cleans poultry houses, pens, feeders, water receptacles, boiler rooms, and sheds. Keeps and checks records on mortality of poultry, feeding of poultry, and other information on poultry; prepares poultry for operations or inoculations; sterilizes hatchery equipment. Repairs and paints sheds, barns, and fences; loads and unloads feed. Collects and washes eggs, candles, and stores eggs in coolers. Maintains proper lighting and heating for poultry pens and incubators; puts shavings in pens nests. Performs related work as required. Education And Experience Completion of O level grade; and varied experience in poultry farm work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Some knowledge of practical farm operations. Some knowledge of the feedings and care of poultry. Some knowledge of the kinds and uses of poultry raising supplies and equipment. Ability to operate basic farm tools and equipment such as trucks, tractors, and mowers. Ability to make simple mechanical and carpentry repairs to farm equipment and buildings. Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions.
