Role Description

The Experienced Tax Associate is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos State, Nigeria. The role involves preparing and reviewing tax computations and returns, supporting tax compliance processes, and assisting with tax advisory engagements for corporate and individual clients. The Experienced Tax Associate will analyse tax regulations, identify tax risks and planning opportunities, and contribute to solutions that align with clients’ business objectives. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing client documentation, participating in meetings, collaborating with audit and advisory teams, and preparing clear, well-structured reports and correspondence. The role also requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, contributing to knowledge-sharing within the team, and supporting junior colleagues where necessary.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulations, with practical experience in tax compliance and tax advisory services.
• Proficiency in tax computation, return preparation, and tax planning for corporate and individual clients.
• Solid analytical and research skills for interpreting tax legislation, identifying risks, and developing practical recommendations.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, client correspondence, and presenting tax issues clearly.
• Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Integrity, professional judgment, and attention to detail in handling sensitive client information and complex tax matters.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a professional services environment and support cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and relevant tax or accounting software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Professional qualification or progress towards ACA, ACCA, CITN, or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a tax-focused role within a reputable accounting or consulting firm is highly beneficial.
