Entry-level Catering & Operations Manager At Nexus Staffing Solutions

Nexus Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing catering and food services business based in Kahawa Sukari, for an energetic and hands-on Entry-Level Catering & Operations Manager.

The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the business, coordinate staff and catering assignments, monitor service delivery, assist with customer communication and ensure that events and orders are executed efficiently.

This is a hands-on management opportunity suitable for a young professional who is organised, responsible, customer-focused and interested in building a career in catering, hospitality and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day catering and operational activities.
• Assist in planning and coordinating catering events, deliveries and food-service assignments.
• Coordinate staff schedules and deployment for different assignments.
• Ensure staff report on time and are appropriately prepared for assignments.
• Monitor service delivery and ensure customers receive professional and timely service.
• Assist with customer enquiries, bookings and follow-ups.
• Coordinate orders and ensure agreed customer requirements are communicated to the relevant teams.
• Support event setup, service and close-out activities.
• Monitor cleanliness, presentation and general service standards.
• Assist in monitoring food, equipment and other operational requirements.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth execution of assignments.
• Handle routine customer concerns and escalate major issues to management.
• Maintain basic operational records, schedules and reports.
• Follow up on pending assignments, deliveries and customer requirements.
• Assist management in identifying operational challenges and practical solutions.
• Support staff discipline, teamwork and adherence to company procedures.
• Assist with stock and equipment accountability during catering assignments.
• Perform other operational duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage, Business Management, Catering or a related field is an advantage.
• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, restaurant operations, events or customer service is needed.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Customer-focused and professional in dealing with clients.
• Must be proactive, reliable and willing to take responsibility.
• Ability to coordinate and work effectively with a team.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Willingness to work during weekends, evenings and public holidays when required by catering assignments.

Remuneration

KSh 15,000 - 20,000 per Month

Salary will depend on experience, skills and suitability for the role.
