The Engineering Services Officer (Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing/Welding) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of systems, equipment and machinery used across the company's poultry farms and processing operations.
The role is responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, safety and efficient operation of farm and processing equipment, including electrical systems, motors, generators, control panels, plumbing, welding, automated feeding systems, ventilation systems, pumps, conveyor belts, refrigeration units and other mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment across poultry farms and processing facilities.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, pumps, generators, conveyors, ventilation systems, refrigeration units and control panels.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults and implement timely repairs.
- Perform basic welding, fabrication and metalwork for equipment repairs, modifications and maintenance.
- Carry out plumbing and water-system maintenance, including pipes, pumps, valves, tanks and related installations.
- Support installation, commissioning and maintenance of new equipment and engineering systems.
- Inspect equipment regularly and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimise breakdowns and downtime.
- Maintain engineering tools, spare parts and maintenance records.
- Provide technical support to farm and processing teams and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in engineering maintenance, preferably in agribusiness, poultry, manufacturing or food processing.
- HND or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Trade Test Certification in Refrigeration, Welding, Plumbing, etc.
