Role Description

• This is a contract, hybrid Emergency Medical Dispatcher role based in Ikeja, with some flexibility for work from home.
• The Emergency Medical Dispatcher will receive and prioritize emergency calls, gather essential information from callers, and use dispatch software to coordinate appropriate medical response teams and transportation.
• The role involves maintaining clear, calm, and professional communication with callers, responders, and healthcare facilities, while monitoring the status of ongoing incidents.
• The dispatcher will document all call details accurately, follow established protocols and escalation procedures, and support continuous improvement of response processes.
• Collaboration with medical personnel, technology teams, and supervisors is expected to ensure efficient and safe operations.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and active listening skills, with the ability to remain calm and compassionate under pressure.
• Proficiency with computer systems, dispatch or call-center software, and basic data entry tools.
• Ability to assess situations quickly, prioritize multiple incidents, and make sound decisions following established protocols.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in recording caller information, incident logs, and reports.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology or prior experience in healthcare, emergency services, or call-center environments is an advantage.
• Availability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in emergency dispatch, first aid, or CPR is beneficial.
• Demonstrated reliability, ethical conduct, and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
