Role Description
This is a contract, hybrid Emergency Medical Dispatcher role based in Ikeja, with some flexibility for work from home.
The Emergency Medical Dispatcher will receive and prioritize emergency calls, gather essential information from callers, and use dispatch software to coordinate appropriate medical response teams and transportation.
The role involves maintaining clear, calm, and professional communication with callers, responders, and healthcare facilities, while monitoring the status of ongoing incidents.
The dispatcher will document all call details accurately, follow established protocols and escalation procedures, and support continuous improvement of response processes.
Collaboration with medical personnel, technology teams, and supervisors is expected to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Qualifications
Strong communication and active listening skills, with the ability to remain calm and compassionate under pressure.
Proficiency with computer systems, dispatch or call-center software, and basic data entry tools.
Ability to assess situations quickly, prioritize multiple incidents, and make sound decisions following established protocols.
Attention to detail and accuracy in recording caller information, incident logs, and reports.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology or prior experience in healthcare, emergency services, or call-center environments is an advantage.
Availability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in emergency dispatch, first aid, or CPR is beneficial.
Demonstrated reliability, ethical conduct, and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
