  • The electrical technician will focus heavily on maintaining the initial building infrastructure and wiring. The successful candidate is expected to spend more time in testing, calibrating, and troubleshooting existing equipment and infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installation: Set up new wiring, control panels, circuits, and electrical components using blueprints and schematics.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose malfunctions and power failures using diagnostic instruments like multimeters, clamp meters, and voltmeters.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and component cleanings on motors, breakers, and switchgear.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow local electrical codes, regulations, and safety protocols like Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and personal protective equipment (PPE) rules.
  • Documentation: Keep clear logs of repairs, maintenance schedules, and equipment upgrades.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • Education: Ordinary National/Higher National Diploma in electrical engineering technology, electrical/electronics engineering plus/and/or a technical training certificate or apprenticeship in a related field.
  • Experience: 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience working with electrical systems.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, use power tools, and understand electrical theory.
  • Physical Abilities: Good manual dexterity, color vision (for color-coded wiring), and physical stamina for standing, lifting, and climbing
  • Added advantage: solar installation and maintenance
