We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to support the maintenance, troubleshooting and efficient operation of electrical systems and production equipment within a manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate should have practical experience in industrial electrical maintenance, preferably within PVC/plastics manufacturing, extrusion or a related production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on electrical systems and production equipment.
Troubleshoot electrical faults and minimise production downtime.
Maintain and troubleshoot motors, control panels, sensors, drives and other industrial electrical equipment.
Support the operation and maintenance of extrusion and other manufacturing machinery.
Diagnose faults in PLC, automation and control systems.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and control schematics.
Conduct routine inspections and ensure electrical equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Support installation, commissioning and modification of electrical equipment.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, breakdowns and repairs.
Work closely with mechanical, production and other technical teams to resolve equipment issues.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures and company standards.
Requirements
B.Eng ./ B.Sc. or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on industrial electrical maintenance experience.
Experience in manufacturing, plastics, PVC, extrusion or a similar production environment is highly desirable.
Practical knowledge of PLC systems, industrial automation, control panels, motors and electrical drives.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and control-system faults effectively.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Candidates with relevant PVC / plastic extrusion experience (2+ years) will be highly preferred.
