Editorial Reporter

The Role

• Research, investigate and develop compelling news stories, features and human-interest reports.
• Cover press conferences, public events, interviews and other news assignments.
• Conduct interviews with relevant personalities, stakeholders and news sources.
• Gather, verify and analyse information from credible sources.
• Write clear, accurate and engaging news reports and editorial content.
• Work closely with editors, producers and other newsroom personnel.
• Monitor current affairs, political, economic, social and industry developments.
• Meet editorial deadlines and adhere to professional journalistic ethics.
• Contribute story ideas and angles for news bulletins, programmes and publications.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mass Communication, Journalism, English or a related discipline.
• 2 - 3 years' experience in journalism or media reporting.
• Excellent writing, communication and interviewing skills.
• Strong research, analytical and investigative abilities.
• Good understanding of current affairs and media ethics.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in digital media and online research.
• Confidence, creativity, integrity and attention to detail.
