Portfolio Analyst Consumer Lending At Fairmoney

Role purpose
The Portfolio Analyst will provide dedicated portfolio analytics for the Consumer Lending Risk team, enabling timely visibility into portfolio performance, early identification of emerging risks, and data-driven credit and portfolio decisions as the business scales.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor performance across applications, approvals, disbursements, repayments, delinquency, collections, and recoveries.
Analyse portfolio vintages and key risk metrics, including first payment default, early delinquency, PAR and DPD, rollm rates, cure rates, defaults, recoveries and credit loss trends.
Perform segmentation analysis by risk grade, customer profile, product, loan amount, tenor, pricing, acquisition channel and other relevant dimensions.
Monitor the end-to-end lending funnel and identify the drivers of approval, conversion, utilisation and portfolio performance.
Build, automate and maintain Tableau dashboards for Risk, management and other relevant stakeholders.
Assess the impact of changes to credit rules, limits, pricing, underwriting and product strategies through cohort, vintage and policy-impact analysis.
Identify emerging portfolio risks, investigate root causes and recommend appropriate actions or areas for intervention.
Track collections performance and collaborate with Collections to understand delinquency movements, treatment effectiveness and recovery outcomes.
Support portfolio forecasting, risk appetite monitoring, performance reviews and periodic management and credit reporting.
Partner with Product, Data and BI, Engineering, Underwriting and Collections to improve data availability, quality and reporting.

Timeliness, accuracy and reliability of portfolio dashboards and reports.
Speed of identification and escalation of emerging portfolio risks.
Coverage and automation of recurring portfolio reporting.
Quality and actionability of insights and recommendations.
Turnaround time for priority portfolio analyses.
Consistency of metric definitions and reconciliation with source data.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in consumer lending, fintech, retail credit, portfolio risk, or credit analytics.
Demonstrated experience analysing loan portfolio performance and the lending lifecycle from application and underwriting through repayment, delinquency, and collections.
Hands-on experience building and maintaining Tableau dashboards.
Experience analysing credit bureau data and affordability, income or salary-verification signals is an advantage.
Strong SQL and data-analysis skills; proficiency in Excel is required.
Experience with Python or another analytical language is an advantage.
Knowledge and capabilities
Strong understanding of consumer credit risk, portfolio monitoring and lending economics.
Working knowledge of vintage analysis, PAR and DPD, roll rates, cure rates, defaults, recoveries and loss trends.
Ability to interrogate large datasets, validate results and translate findings into clear business actions.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and sound commercial judgement.
Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to manage priorities independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
