We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Distribution Manager to oversee the efficient distribution of products from warehouses or distribution centers to customers, retailers, and other business locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing logistics operations, inventory movement, transportation, delivery performance, and distribution staff while ensuring products are delivered accurately, safely, on time, and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement effective distribution strategies and operational plans.
Manage daily distribution, transportation, and delivery operations.
Coordinate the movement of products from warehouses to customers, retailers, distributors, and other destinations.
Monitor inventory availability and ensure accurate stock movement.
Plan and optimize delivery routes to improve efficiency and reduce transportation costs.
Manage relationships with transport providers, suppliers, distributors, and other logistics partners.
Supervise and support warehouse, logistics, transport, and distribution teams.
Monitor delivery schedules and ensure products are delivered on time.
Investigate and resolve delivery delays, damaged goods, stock discrepancies, and customer complaints.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and transportation requirements.
Monitor distribution costs and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
Prepare regular reports on delivery performance, inventory movement, costs, and other key operational metrics.
Develop and manage departmental budgets.
Implement systems and processes to improve productivity and service quality.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and development for distribution staff.
Work closely with sales, procurement, warehouse, customer service, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations.
Identify potential risks within the distribution process and implement appropriate solutions.
