Brendan Nicholas Holdings is a permanent-capital institution focused on building and holding companies for the long term, beginning in Nigeria and expanding across Africa over time. We are looking for a Director of Investment to lead our Technology and Sovereign Digital Desk.

This is a senior role for someone who understands how to build companies, allocate capital and put the right people and structures in place to make businesses succeed over the long term.

Your role will go beyond identifying investment opportunities. You will be responsible for assessing opportunities, establishing new companies, appointing boards and executive teams, and putting the right governance structures in place. You will be accountable for the companies the Desk builds and the results they deliver. Day-to-day commercial negotiations and contract execution will be handled by the executives you appoint.

What we are looking for:

• You should have experience taking an asset or company from an initial idea to actual operations, with clear responsibility for the outcome.
• You should have exercised decision-making authority over capital, appointed and removed senior executives, and worked within a governance structure that held you accountable.
• You should also have established relationships within the sector that you can demonstrate and verify.

Beyond your experience, we want someone who can explain the opportunities they have turned down and the reasoning behind those decisions. Strong writing is essential, as our institution relies on clear, well-reasoned documents to make decisions and guide its work. You should also be open to feedback and willing to take correction without becoming defensive.
