Role Purpose
The Development Geologist provides high-quality development geology support for reservoir characterization, static modelling, well planning, field development and reservoir management to improve subsurface understanding, reduce uncertainty and maximize recovery from the Company's upstream
assets.
Core Competencies
Development geology
Structural and stratigraphic interpretation
Static geological modelling
Well correlation characterization
Volumetric assessment and reservoir
Well planning and opportunity maturation Subsurface uncertainty and risk analysis Integrated field development
Technical reporting and multidisciplinary collaboration
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Quality and currency of geological/static models
Accuracy and timeliness of geological deliverables
Contribution to successful well maturation and placement
Reduction of subsurface uncertainty
Quality of reserves and FDP geological inputs
Technical assurance compliance
Data quality and documentation
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and integrate well logs, core, seismic and production information to build robust geological understanding of reservoirs.
Develop and maintain structural, stratigraphic and depositional frameworks for producing and development assets.
Build, update and quality-assure static geological models for volumetric assessment, well planning and reservoir simulation
Generate and mature development, infill and appraisal well opportunities in collaboration with reservoir engineers and geophysicists.
Provide geological input to well prognosis, well placement, geosteering support and post-well evaluation.
Assess geological uncertainty and risk and communicate implications for development decisions. Support reserves/resource estimation, Field Development Plans and reservoir management activities.
Participate in integrated subsurface reviews, peer assists and technical assurance processes
Maintain high-quality geological databases, maps, correlations and technical documentation
Work collaboratively with Reservoir Engineering, Geophysics, Wells, Production and Facilities teams.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or a related geoscience discipline.
Master's Degree in Petroleum Geoscience/Geology is an added advantage.
Minimum 8-12 years relevant upstream E&P experience, including hands-on development geology and integrated subsurface studies
