Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Director across all project workstreams; deputise fully in their absence
  • Lead the management and coordination of all external consultants including structural engineer, MEP engineer, planning consultant, quantity surveyor, and specialist consultants; ensure consultants deliver to programme and scope
  • Own the project risk register; identify, assess, and manage project risks proactively; report to the Project Director and client on risk status
  • Lead the coordination between the Design and Architectural Manager and the Construction Manager to ensure design packages are delivered in the sequence required by the construction programme
  • Manage formal communications with all consultants and third parties, including formal letters and contract notices
  • Chair the consultant coordination meeting in the Project Director\'s absence
  • Support the Project Director in preparation of client reports, presentations, and change order submissions
  • Monitor overall project programme against milestones and escalate emerging delays to the Project Director
  • Manage the statutory approvals programme, coordinating with appointed consultants and tracking submission and decision dates
  • Lead the project close-out process including as-built documentation and project lessons-learned review

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management; postgraduate qualification an advantage
  • Minimum 14 years of experience in the construction or real estate development industry, with at least 6 years in a senior project management role
  • Strong experience in Design and Build project delivery in Nigeria
  • Familiarity with Lagos State planning and building control processes
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary design consultant teams
  • Membership of a relevant professional body such as NSE, NIOB, NIQS, or NIA is an advantage

Provide strategic advice to the Project Director and senior management on programme direction, emerging opportunities, and implementation risks. Review programme performance reports and recommend corrective actions where necessary. Participate in periodic programme reviews and strategic planning sessions. Commercial Strategy and Partnership Development: Lead the programme's commercial and partnership strategy to strengthen private-sector participation and long-term sustainability. Build and maintain relationships with agribusinesses, processors, exporters, financial institutions, investors, input suppliers, and other strategic partners. Identify opportunities for market expansion, private investment, and commercial partnerships that support programme objectives. Support negotiations and strategic engagement with high-level public and private sector stakeholders. Advise on approaches that improve the commercial viability and sustainability of programme interventions beyond the project lifecycle. Governance, Risk Management and Quality Assurance: Provide independent oversight of programme quality, implementation progress, and delivery standards across all implementation states. Qualifications and Experience Essential: Master's Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, Business Administration, Economics, Project Management, or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience providing strategic oversight for complex, multi-state or national development programmes. Strong understanding of agricultural value chains, enterprise development, market systems development, youth employment, and private sector engagement. Proven experience building strategic partnerships with government institutions, development partners, financial institutions, and private sector organisations. Strong analytical, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Experience working on donor-funded programmes and familiarity with donor compliance requirements. Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills. Preferred: Experience supporting programme start-up or scaling complex agricultural programmes. Experience working with commercially driven market systems development programmes. Professional certification in programme management or related disciplines will be an advantage.
